Speaker 1:

All right, good evening and welcome to this episode of the five fold podcast. I'm your host, michael Weidman, and we are joined today with the host of what is the name of your show.

Speaker 3:

The mom friend with Elena and I'm Elena.

Speaker 1:

The mom friend with Elena, and this is Elena Graham, all the way from the state of Oklahoma, correct?

Speaker 3:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I just had to make sure. I forgot to ask you before we started, but I thought that was what it was all the way from the state of Oklahoma. We're excited we have again, we have joined in together in this of God and men network and we are excited to bring to you the content that is going to be brought out from all walks of life, everything from pastors, evangelists, school teachers to mothers, and I'm excited tonight to introduce you to this host and I'm excited for you guys to hear her show on the launch date of April 1st, when of God and men actually goes alive. So, elena, tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.

Speaker 3:

So my dad is from French, and everyone else, and he had originally done of God and men as a standalone, and then he decided that there are other voices that need to be heard as well, with the same faith, the same of like mind. And so he started the network, which obviously you are a part of as well, and he had asked me if I would join to give the essentially the new mother new start of a different type of life, that sort of perspective. And I am also in college to Get my teaching degree. I actually start in a school on April 1st. That is awesome. Yeah, and I have a little girl. Her name is Abigail, we call her Abby. You might end up hearing her scream for me in a few minutes.

Speaker 3:

Nothing wrong with that she's one and a half and basically the goal for the mom friend is To give the perspective of a new mother Just trying to navigate my Christian walk with a toddler, trying to raise her in the way she should go, as the scripture says, while also staying true to real life. I'm not trying to be Fake or say, hey, everything's always puppies and rainbows, because it's not, especially not in the early days. We are newly married. I say newly married. We got married in 2021 and we had Abby in July of 2022, so she's a honeymoon baby immediately. So there there have also been some instances where we're still learning about each other and learning where we stand Biblically and then also in reference to each other. So my goal is to be the support system for people who might not have a godly support system, because when I first moved here, I had nobody.

Speaker 1:

I Think it's important too, and that's one of the things I love about this network. Your dad had the vision and when he shared it, we were all. We were all on board, we were all like you know. This is great and I think, bringing in a perspective of someone who can say look, it's not always going to be easy to be a mother and to be a godly woman All at the same time, but you, you can bring that together and you can. You can bring encouragement to somebody else to say, look, if I can do it, you can do it, and I think that's why it's important.

Speaker 1:

Like you know, with my line of work, there's a lot of people that think you can't do law enforcement and be a pastor of a church. But look, hey, if I can do it, anybody can do it. Right, I'm not the smartest of people, but you know what I'm gonna. I'm gonna get out here and I'm gonna do what God's called me to do, and that's not only in the Church but it's also out there in the world. And you're doing that With your daughter. You're you're training her in the way that you should go, and you and your husband are both involved in the church. Tell us a little bit about that as well.

Speaker 3:

So I am the. At the moment, I am the music minister at our church. I have zero experience. There was a need that needed to be filled, and so I stepped up and my husband I don't know if he is officially a deacon, but that is the direction our pastors wanting him to go. We tend to do stuff with the youth. We actually just did an outreach On Saturday. We went to the park and the coffee shop, handed out flyers for a lunch with the pastor that we're having this, not like yesterday, not this past Sunday, but next Sunday, and yeah, so we're just dabbling everything.

Speaker 1:

Well, I mean, you know you was, you was raised in the house of a pastor. I'm, your dad, pastored for quite a few years and then evangelized for quite a few years. So you know that, especially in a smaller congregation and I'm not saying you guys, as church is a small congregation at all, but I'm just saying when there's a hole you gotta feel it. And as a mother, as a parent, you know I'm not a mother, obviously wrong, wrong gender.

Speaker 1:

I have questions and I don't care what year it is. If you, anyways, I'll just leave it at that. I'm a father, you know, and there's sometimes that you just got a. You got to learn as you go, you got to keep moving forward and, and I wish sometimes I had a support system that would have looked at me whenever my little girl she's 11 now when she was first born, and said you know what? You're gonna go through this. You're gonna go through this you're, but it's gonna be okay.

Speaker 1:

And you know, if it wasn't for the church coming together and encouraging you, it gets hard and it gets lonely. Yeah, so I'm excited. I'm excited for your show. I did like I said I listened to the first episode that you introduced yourself in and I thought you did a great job and you've got a great voice that people need to hear, and I'm proud to say that you're part of this group and I'm proud to be part of it with you. So, before we jump off of here, leave us. Leave us with a little bit of a word of encouragement from from our our mommy, friend.

Speaker 3:

Well, first of all, I think you just nicely said I have a face for radio.

Speaker 1:

I'm not saying, you look like your dad.

Speaker 3:

I'm the one child that doesn't. So what I would say would be if you're a new parent or a newly wedded couple, hold on. It's rough. It's rough the first little while and it does get better. But for it to get better you have to communicate. And If your walk happens to be new in the church, new to God, again communicate. But that doesn't just mean, you know, just throw your prayers out there. You also have to study the word. You have to, you have to read it. You can't just all of a sudden, no, and Since it takes communication, you have to be willing to listen, and that includes your relationship with your children, with your husband, with God, with yourself. Even. You have to let the words in, you can't just let them out first.

Speaker 1:

Yes, amen, amen. That's awesome. So all of you look forward to listening to her show. I know that it's going to be awesome. You can join us on the of God and men network, ogmnetwork ogmnetwork.
